Lexxicon- You Know Me (Independent): This Jamaica-born, Toronto-based, hip-hop/dancehall artist and community powerhouse continues to share music from his forthcoming album, Tropicon Islands, arriving Nov. 19.
In a press release, Lexxicon explains that recent single You Know Me “is about feeling as if no one else gets you the way that your person does. All the different ways of communicating such as physical touch, words of affirmation or even acts of service, they get you and know how to switch things up that keep you excited. It’s a feeling like no other when someone understand you emotional and physically.” A live performance visual to accompany You Know Me was filmed by videographer Mohtohsoh.
The track has more of a contemporary R&B tone than dancehall, Lexxicon's vocals have a sensual feel, and the production work of Artafacts is smooth.
Intriguing news is that Lexxicon has written a complementary novel, also entitled Tropicon Islands, to be published on Nov. 26.
Tropicon Islands, the album, follows up the two well-received EPs he released last year, Bashment Trap House and Tropical R&B, material that showcase his diverse musical influences.
A man of many talents, Lexxicon champions community work and inclusion as the Director of AfroWaveTO, a Toronto based community creating vibrant new culture.

Ed Sheeran’s = debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, achieving the highest album and digital song sales, and on-demand streams for the week and ending Drake’s eight consecutive weeks run at the top of the chart. It is Sheeran’s fourth consecutive album to debut at No. 1.
The remainder of the top five falls one position from last week’s chart, with Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, Lil Nas X’s Montero, Doja Cat’s Planet Her and The Kid Laroi’s F*ck Love sitting at Nos. 2 through 5.
Francophone rapper Enima debuts at No.15 with Resilience, his highest-charted album to date. His previous top peak was #35 with his 2018 release OPN.
Mastodon’s Hushed and Grim debuts at No. 18, the American metal band’s first release since Emperor Of Sand reached No. 4 in March 2017.
The War On Drugs’ I Don’t Live Here Anymore debuts at No. 33, their first release since A Deeper Understanding peaked at No. 8 in 2017.
Thanks to consumption activity around Halloween for the title cut, Michael Jackson’s Thriller bullets 90-26, the album’s highest chart position in the SoundScan era.
