Canadian country singer, songwriter Dallas Smith has signed a global record deal with Big Loud Records, the integrated Nashville-based powerhouse music entertainment firm that has achieved success with acts that include Florida Georgia Line, Chris Lane and Morgan Wallen.
Smith has consistently proved himself to be a blue chip hitmaker, with 11 No. 1 hits on Canadian Country radio, earning him multiple Juno and Canadian Country Music awards and strong box-office appeal.
Over the years he has recordings have appeared on 604 Records, Big Loud Mountain Records, and Republic Nashville. His third album, Side Effects, set a record as the first album by a Canadian hat act to produce four number-one singles.
Smith will release new material on Local Hay Records, a boutique imprint headed by Smith and record producer Scott Cooke that is described as a joint venture with Big Loud Records.
In a statement, Big Loud co-founder and in-house producer Joey Moi said, “Dallas is a day-one guy for me in what is truly an incomparable musical union and friendship that spans more than two decades.”
Continuing: “With new music ahead that truly has no borders, I can only imagine what Dallas will achieve in the years to come and know for certain it’s a freight train that we all want to be on.”
Smith is also under the wing of Big Loud Management.

Ed Sheeran’s = debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, achieving the highest album and digital song sales, and on-demand streams for the week and ending Drake’s eight consecutive weeks run at the top of the chart. It is Sheeran’s fourth consecutive album to debut at No. 1.
The remainder of the top five falls one position from last week’s chart, with Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, Lil Nas X’s Montero, Doja Cat’s Planet Her and The Kid Laroi’s F*ck Love sitting at Nos. 2 through 5.
Francophone rapper Enima debuts at No.15 with Resilience, his highest-charted album to date. His previous top peak was #35 with his 2018 release OPN.
Mastodon’s Hushed and Grim debuts at No. 18, the American metal band’s first release since Emperor Of Sand reached No. 4 in March 2017.
The War On Drugs’ I Don’t Live Here Anymore debuts at No. 33, their first release since A Deeper Understanding peaked at No. 8 in 2017.
Thanks to consumption activity around Halloween for the title cut, Michael Jackson’s Thriller bullets 90-26, the album’s highest chart position in the SoundScan era.
